Frequently Asked Questions
Our Caviar
How long does caviar last?
Unopened and chilled properly, your jar can last up to 4 weeks. Once you pop it, the clock starts ticking, enjoy it within 72 hours for peak deliciousness. We do not recommend freezing caviar.
What size caviar jar should I order?
Rule of thumb: 1 ounce per person. (Unless you’re feeling extra indulgent—then go bigger, no judgment here.)
Does caviar have any health benefits?
Oh yes. Caviar isn’t just delicious, it’s basically a superfood. Packed with protein, vitamins A, B, C, and D, and more minerals than your fancy multivitamin. Plus, it’s rich in Omega-3s, which your brain, heart, skin, and hair will love. So technically, eating caviar is self-care.
How do I open my vacuum-sealed jar of caviar?
Because we vacuum-seal for freshness, the lid may be tight. Click HERE for a simple trick to release the seal and open your jar with ease.
Shipping
When will I receive my order?
If you order caviar by 12PM EST Monday through Thursday, we’ll ship it out same day so it lands on your doorstep the very next day. (Yes, we move fast when it comes to roe.)
Heads up: We do not ship Friday - Sunday (aka no delivery Saturday - Monday). Orders placed after 12PM EST on Thursday through Sunday will ship the following Monday for Tuesday delivery. We also do not ship out or deliver on holidays.
Pro tip: Order at least 2 days before you want it in case life (or UPS) throws a curveball. December is wild, with heavy volume orders, please place your orders at least 3 days ahead of time to account for potential shipping delays that tend to happen around the holidays.
Where do you ship?
Anywhere in the lower 48. Sorry Alaska and Hawaii, you’re gorgeous, but we can’t get there (yet).
We unfortunately CANNOT ship to PO Boxes.
How do you pack and ship your caviar?
We ship overnight with UPS because caviar deserves VIP treatment. Your jars are tucked into insulated boxes with gel packs that keep them perfectly chilled for up to 48 hours.
**Please make sure your shipping address is complete and accurate at checkout so your order arrives without a hitch. Roe House isn’t responsible for issues caused by incorrect or incomplete addresses.**
Can I change or cancel my order once an order has been placed?
Our team packs and ships caviar faster than you can say “pass the blinis.” Once an order’s placed, we can’t make changes or cancellations.
What do I do if there is a delivery exception on my shipment?
First, don’t panic. We’ll stay on top of the shipper and push to get it to you ASAP. If you missed the first delivery attempt, UPS will swing by again the next day. If it’s inching toward that 48-hour mark, you can also try to pick it up at your local UPS spot. If your package shows up late and not cold, reach out right away at hello@eatroehouse.com. Keep everything exactly as it arrived (packaging, product etc), We’ll need it to file a claim and make things right.
Can I place a pre-order?
At this time, we cannot accept pre-orders through our site. Please place your order before 12PM EST the day before you would like to receive your caviar.
Refunds & Returns
Does Roe House accept returns or give refunds?
Here’s the deal: once caviar leaves our house, it can’t come back (perishable goods and all). If something’s wrong with your order, let us know within 24 hours. Refunds or credits are up to our discretion, but we’ll always do our best to make things right.
